About the Nursery
LWS Nurseries in Notting Hill Gate are part of the Lloyd Williamson Schools. Babies and children can join at any time from four months old. We offer full and part time, term-time-only as well as all-year-round. We are situated on two sites next door to each other. We open at 7:30am and close at 6:00pm. Parents provide a morning fruit snack and lunches which we heat up in our kitchen; we provide water, milk and an afternoon snack. We cater for allergies and special dietary requirements.
We encourage curiosity, exploration and excitement!
Our nurseries are divided over two settings: PGT1 - 112 Palace Gardens Terrace (4 months - circa 24 months) and PGT2 - 104 Palace Gardens Terrace (circa 2 years old - up to 5 years).
They are divided into rooms based on developmental stage and age. Children move between rooms when they are ready and at the discretion of the nursery team:
Baby Room 4 months to 27 months
Toddler Room 22 months to 36 months
Cherubs/Phoenix Risen 3-4 years
We are open from 7:30am - 6:00pm, giving great flexibility to working parents.
A simple cereal breakfast is offered until 8:00am. At the beginning and end of each day, the children are grouped together to have the opportunity to play with each other.
Planned and individual daily activities allow exploration of the environment and children's interests and passions through play and 'doing'. Partnership with parents supports this ongoing development. Learning is documented in each child's Learning Journey.
Above all, we aim for all children to be happy, learning, positively challenged and ready to start school...
Houses and Uniform
Children from Cherubs upwards are placed into four houses: Badgers, Bears, Tigers and Wolves for the annual sports day consisting both round-robin activities as well as competitive activities.
There is no uniform for nursery children.
As well as our dedicated nursery staff, we are delighted to provide specialist tuition in music (Sharon Cambell), French (Audrey), Ballet (Rebekah) and Yoga (Jill Ploumistos)
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. The seven areas of learning and development are:
1. Communication and language
2. Physical development
3. Personal, social and emotional development
6. Understanding the world
7. Expressive arts and design
In our well resourced nursery, children learn through inventive play, both adult and child led.
The progress of each child is monitored using their learning journey and ongoing assessments which are shared regularly with parents.
Our nursery, established since 1999, has developed a reputation for recruiting a happy, motivated and loyal staff team. We deliver the highest quality childcare by supporting our babies, toddlers and young children to achieve their full potential at each stage of development, giving them the best possible start in life.
